Lee

Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the football scholarship of his parents and a commitment in the local community. Selmon is the youngest of children of Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon, who took care of him at their farm in Eufala. Second football he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the US. For three seasons as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma went 32- 1-1 and won two national championships. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975. He was also designated an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout college. After graduation, he landed in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers were all-pro three times and started his business career. In 1988, he was an Account Relations Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked on the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the most prominent young men across the nation. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch higher and weighing in at 256 pounds in college as an athlete, was captain of his team throughout 1975. In 1993, Roy was a part of at the University of South Florida's athletic department as its assistant director. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame named his as a member in the year the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded their Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
